Thomas Stanley, 1st Earl of Derby (1435 - 29 July 1504) was a powerful nobleman and the fourth husband of Lady Margaret Beaufort, mother of King Henry VII.
A wealthy and powerful man, Stanley's support for Henry's claim to the throne of England was instrumental to his success in the Wars of the Roses.

Margaret Beaufort agrees to marry a final time to Thomas Stanley to ensure the success of Henry's claim to the throne. She wishes for a sexless marriage, however, and Stanley complies, also only marrying Margaret thanks to her power and wealth.
