George Plantagenet, 1st Duke of Clarence was the brother of kings Edward IV and Richard III, the husband of Isabel Neville and the father of Margaret and Edward Plantagenet.

The son of the Duke of York, George was the elder of Edward IV's two younger brothers.
He shared Warwick's displeasure of Edward's marriage to Elizabeth and all the 'commoners' that the alliance had brought to court.
Warwick offered to help him overthrow Edward, and they briefly held him captive at Warwick Castle. George married Warwick's eldest daughter Isabel to signify their allegiance.
Edward was restored to power, but Isabel quickly became pregnant. Warwick and George hoped it was a boy so that they could challenge Edward's power once again.
However, Isabel was forced to make a sea voyage in the later stages of her pregnancy and she gave birth to a son who died soon after.
Although George returned to his brother, he grew increasingly paranoid about his position and Elizabeth's influence over the King.
When his wife Isabel died shortly after childbirth, he was convinced that Elizabeth had poisoned her and accused her of being a witch. He also attempted to marry a French princess so he could overthrow Edward from the English throne. He was tried for treason and drowned in a butt of Malmsey wine.
